Vocalist Mira Black is going back to school, with a dedicated focus on jazz theory and performance. Over the next six months, Mira will be learning from the best of the best, including jazz vocal lessons from Anna-Lisa Kirby at the University of Manitoba and classical vocal study from Dianne Berger at the Manitoba Conservatory of Art & Music. Furthermore, she will study jazz theory with Will Bonness, jazz composition with Quincy Davis and jazz history with Steve Kirby. The end result will a brand new repertoire of compositions, debuted at her Nu Sounds series performance in April. Mira will be joined on stage by Gilles Fournier (electric/acoustic bass), Keith Price (guitar), Brennan Saul (percussion), Nathan Reimer (piano and programming) and Derrick Gardner (trumpet).
