Keith Price is the Director of Music at the University of Auckland’s School of Creative Arts (since January 2026); he has been on staff at Waipapa Taumata Rau since 2019.

Keith teaches jazz guitar performance, improvisation, and composition, and jazz history
Research
Keith’s research centres on the electric-era compositional process of Miles Davis and Teo Macero, alongside the music of Steve Coleman and the M-BASE Collective, jazz transcription and analysis, and jazz pedagogy.
